September 23rd. Outstanding performances on the track by Jane, who became the new World Record-holder in the 35-39 AG for the very prestigious Hour Record. And Congratulations also to David who, just a few hours later, posted new Canadian Hour Record numbers for the 30-34 AG. Great job you two!

CONGRATULATIONS TO WORLD HOUR RECORD-HOLDER JANE, WHO DECIMATED THE 35-39 MARK AT MILTON VELODROME ON 23 SEPTEMBER - the new mark is a stunning 42.425km.

AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW CANADIAN HOUR RECORD-HOLDER DAVID WHO ANNIHILATED THE CANADIAN 30-34 HOUR RECORD JUST A FEW HOURS AFTER JANE.

Just a few words about the Hour: next to the rainbow stripes and winning the Tour, the Hour record is perhaps the most revered in cycling. But it is such a demanding event that few of even the best cyclists ever attempt it. And those who do are usually changed for ever. Eddy Merckx, perhaps the greatest cyclist who ever lived, said that his attempt on the Hour probably cost him two years of his career. It's that brutal! So you have to admire Jane and David for even attempting this event. And to be able to pull off those records? Phenomenal!

October 21st. Your coach should have been racing the Grand Floridian 1/3 distance triathlon but an Achilles problem nixed that, so he raced the 1/3 Aquabike instead. After logging the fastest swim in 19:48, Erik turned in one of the fastest bike times and finished 2nd overall.

October 22nd. Congratulations to Morgan on another great marathon performance, clocking in at 2h 57min in the Scotiabank Marathon.
